Do you know someone who could be nominated for the RCN in Wales Nurse of the Year 2018 in the Safeguarding Category?
If so share their story and give them the recognition they deserve – nominate them in the Safeguarding category of this year’s RCN Wales Nurse of the Year Awards which is sponsored by the National Independent Safeguarding Board Wales.
All registered nurses and midwives practicing in Wales, pre-registration nursing students and health care support workers across all sectors, are eligible to enter.
The closing date for nominations is June 24th 2018.
Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse, harm or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and dangers. One of the fundamental principles of safeguarding is that it is everyone’s responsibility.
Nurses and midwives active in safeguarding can be found in all areas of clinical practice, at all levels and across all sectors.
About the award: This award aims to recognise a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife who has made an outstanding contribution to the safeguarding of children and/or adults at risk under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 via a service improvement that enables protection against abuse and neglect within communities.
Who can be nominated?
A Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife who is:
• Working at any level within a service, educational or policy role within Wales
• Practising within the Independent and Third sectors, NHS, or Local Authority
Please read the RCN nomination form guidance note before beginning your submission.
