The Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA Centre) is a multidisciplinary team funded by the Home Office, hosted by Barnardo’s and works closely with key partners from academic institutions, local authorities, health services, education, the police and others in the voluntary sector.
The CSA Centre have now produced a series of 12 short films that allow practitioners easy accessibility to key information distilled from their resources. The production of these films, supported through Welsh Government funding, supports the objectives set out in the National Action Plan, Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse.
The resources are:
These resources are also all available fully in Welsh here: SuppoCefnogi ymarfer wrth fynd i’r afael â cham-drin plant yn rhywiol – CSA Centre
The resources aim to give professionals the knowledge to identify concerns of child sexual abuse and the confidence to respond to it, not just with the child, but with the whole family. The short films are designed for anyone whose role brings them into contact with children and young people under 18 years old or their parents or carers; including social workers, teachers, police officers, health professionals, voluntary-sector workers or faith leaders/workers – whether they are new to the role, still in training or highly experienced. The films signpost to the CSA Centre resources.
